Laurel County Wanton endangerment arrest

Laurel Sheriff's Deputy Robert Reed along with Major Chuck Johnson, Capt. Kevin Berry, Sgt. Brett Reeves, Detective Richard Dalrymple, Deputy Travis Napier, Deputy Joey Robinson, Detective Bryon Lawson, and Bailiff Jacklyn Johnson arrested Rubin Lee Blansett age 76 of London on Monday morning September 16, 2019 at approximately 11:22 AM.


The arrest occurred off Harold Reams Road, approximately 8 miles west of London after deputies were dispatched to a complaint that this subject had allegedly pointed a firearm at his wife and son threatening to kill them.


While enroute to the scene, deputies learned that apparently Blansett had been disarmed but stated he was going after another gun at his barn and had left the scene on a four wheeler. When deputies arrived at the scene, they located Blansett learning that he had created a disturbance around workers at the barn. In addition, deputies determined through investigation that he was under the influence.


Rubin Lee Blansett was charged with two counts of wanton endangerment – first-degree; two counts of disorderly conduct – first-degree; operating a motor vehicle under the influence – first offense.
