The Virginia State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation's Wytheville Field Office is investigating a homicide in Lee County.
At approximately 3:55 p.m. Wednesday, April 10, 2024, the Lee County Sheriff's Office notified the Virginia State Police of a deceased male subject discovered in a wooded area near ATV trails along Valley Springs Road (corrected from our initial report) in the community of Rose Hill.
The body was transported to the Office of the Medical Examiner in Roanoke for examination, autopsy and positive identification. The investigation remains ongoing at this time.
