New football coach coming to Middlesboro
Updated: Jan 9, 2019
Middlesboro Independent Schools Superintendent Waylon Allen announces that he will hold a press conference on Thursday January 10, 2019 at 4:00pm in the Middlesboro High School cafeteria to officially introduce Larry French as the new head football coach.
French recently resigned from Southwestern with a 47-17 record with three 10 - win seasons and back-to-back state championships at Boyle County in 2009 and 2010.
French is also the sixth winningest coach in the state. He has been coaching high school football for 42 years.
In the last few weeks there had been speculation as to whether Mr. French would take the helm of the MHS team after other schools were looking at him to lead their programs.
WRIL-The Big One will be streaming the press conference LIVE on social media.
