A Middlesboro man was served an additional charge while lodged in the Bell County Detention Center on Wednesday, January 3, 2023.
56-year-old Charles Smith was already in jail on charges of failure to appear in court and non-support. After Middlesboro Police received a burglary report on December 29th of last year, Lt./Detective Barry Cowan began an investigation which led to Smith being the suspect.
Lt. Cowan was able to recover nearly all of the items stolen from the residence and then charged Smith with burglary 3rd degree.
Smith is being held on a $5500.00 cash bond.
