On Tuesday, September 28th, 2021, the Claiborne County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division along with the Claiborne County Sheriff’s Office S.W.A.T. Team took 56 year old Tommy Lynn Hurst, of Clairfield Tennessee into custody.
Hurst was on Parole for Manslaughter stemming from a 2018 conviction from Claiborne County, Tennessee. At the time Hurst and five other people were charged in connection with the 2015 death of then 56-year-old Hershel Gulley, also of Clairfield.
The Claiborne Grand Jury indicted the six individuals during its January 2016 session. Vanassa Hurst, Tommy Hurst, Kayla Partin, Brandon Partin, Adam Michael Barton and Michael Alan Chesney were indicted in this case.
Recently, Claiborne Detectives became involved in the apprehension of Tommy Lynn Hurst after he was charged by Kentucky State Police for Robbery and Wanton Endangerment which violated his Tennessee Department of Corrections Parole.
