Pair Arrested After Fleeing From Police in Burglary Investigation

On Monday, July 13, 2026, at 7:10 am Knox County Deputy Thomas Martin responded to a report of people in a dark colored Dodge Dart looking inside vehicles in Stephen Trace subdivision south of Barbourville.


As Deputy Martin was entering Stephen Trace, he met a dark blue Dodge Dart coming out of the area. Deputy Martin observed the vehicle turn onto KY 3439 and later turn onto Bradly Martin Lane. The deputy also observed the vehicle pull onto US-25E, turn into the Goodwill parking lot then pull back onto US-25E traveling in the wrong lane before finally stopping on US-25E.


A male suspect jumped out of the rear passenger seat of the vehicle and attempted to flee on foot. Deputy Martin was able to apprehend and arrest 19-year-old Christian Kanrom of Corbin, KY charging him with Fleeing or evading Police-1st Degree/on foot.


Deputy Martin also recovered the contents, including a firearm, stolen from two vehicles in Stephen Trace, Christian Kanrom was then charged with Theft by Unlawful Taking-firearm, two counts of Theft by Unlawful Taking or Disposition-others and Tampering with Physical Evidence.


The female driver, 18-year-old Kirsten Kidd of Williamsburg, KY was arrested on an additional charge of Fleeing or Evading Police-1st Degree/vehicle.


Christian Kanrom and Kirsten Kidd were lodged in the Knox County Detention Center.
