Passenger in a traffic stop arrested by Bell deputy for drug possession

Shane Casey Hoskins - BCDC

On Tuesday, October 19, 2021, at approximately 8:30pm Bell County K-9 Officer Adam Southern arrested an individual on drug charges.


36-year-old Shane Casey Hoskins was a passenger in a 2010 Toyota that was stopped on Brock Hollow Road by the deputy after pulling out of a gas station on Highway 66 in a careless manner at approximately 8:25pm.


Deputy Southern knew Hoskins to have an outstanding warrant for his arrest and took him into custody shortly after the stop. A search incident to arrest found Hoskins to be in possession of a small bag of a crystal substance believed to be Methamphetamine, several other bags of the same size that were empty but had residue, two bags of Marijuana, and (15) fifteen Suboxone pills.


Shane Hoskins was transported to and lodged in the Bell County Detention Center charged with trafficking controlled substance – 1st degree, 1st offense (greater than 2 grams – Methamphetamine), buying/possessing drug paraphernalia, trafficking Marijuana, and possession of controlled substance 2nd degree, 1st offense (less than 20 dosage units - drug unspecified – schedule 3).


The driver was not cited in this incident.
