Sexual exploitation charges for a Clay County man

Manchester, Ky. (May 13, 2019) — On Thursday May 9, 2019, Joseph D. Gray, 22 was charged with distribution of matter portraying sexual performance by a minor and possession of matter portraying a sexual performance by a minor.

Gray was arrested as the result of an undercover Internet Crimes Against Children investigation. The KSP Electronic Crime Branch began the investigation after discovering the suspect distributed files of child sexual exploitation online.

The investigation resulted in the execution of a search warrant at a residence in Manchester on February 28, 2019. Equipment used to facilitate the crime was seized and taken to KSP’s forensic laboratory for examination.

Gray was charged with two counts of distribution of matter portraying sexual performance by a minor and two counts of possession of matter portraying a sexual performance by a minor. Both charges are Class-D felonies punishable by one to five years in prison. He was lodged in the Clay County Detention Center.
