Sheriff’s Office Makes Arrest on Burglary Charges​​​​​

From The Harlan County Sheriff's Office -

On Thursday, March 11th the Harlan County Sheriff’s Office received a complaint of an individual that was trespassing on a porch in Coldiron. Deputies located Robert Rice and he fled on foot and was located in a building in Coldiron.

Robert Rice - HCDC

Robert Rice, 39, of Hulen was charged with Criminal Trespassing 3rd Degree, Criminal Mischief 3rd Degree, Fleeing or Evading Police 1st Degree and Resisting Arrest. He was also served with a Harlan County Circuit Court Indictment Warrant for Burglary 3rd Degree and a Bell County District Court Bench Warrant for Failure to Appear. Additional charges are also pending.



Reggie Cottrell - HCDC

On Friday, March 12th Deputies arrested Reggie Cottrell, 36, of Evarts. He was arrested on a warrant obtained by the Harlan County Sheriff’s Office for Theft by Unlawful Taking, Fleeing or Evading Police 2nd Degree and Escape 2nd Degree. Cottrell was also served with a Harlan County Circuit Court Indictment Warrant for Burglary 3rd Degree and a Child Support Warrant.



Zachary Huff - HCDC

On Saturday, March 13th Deputies arrested Zachary Huff, 33, of Evarts. He was arrested on a Harlan County Circuit Court Indictment Warrant for Possession of Controlled Substance 1st Degree (Methamphetamine), Possession of Controlled Substance 1st Degree, Possession of Marijuana and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. He was also served with a Bench Warrant for Failure to Appear on a Harlan County Circuit Court Indictment for Trafficking in Controlled Substance 1st Degree (Methamphetmaine), Possession of Controlled Substance 1st Degree, Tampering with Physical Evidence, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Carrying a Concealed Weapon and Prescription Controlled Substance not in Proper Container.


All individuals were lodged in the Harlan County Detention Center. The cases remain under investigation by the Harlan County Sheriff’s Office.
