On Tuesday, October 29, 2019 Knox County Court Security Officer Jesse Smith arrested Whitney F. Lawson age 28 of Flat Lick, KY on two Knox County Bench Warrants for Flagrant Non-Support and Contempt of Court charges. She was lodged in the Knox County Detention Center.
On Wednesday, October 30, 2019 Deputy Elijah Broughton and Bobby Jones received information that Whitney Lawson had left her 7 year old daughter with a non-compliant sex offender on October 29.
The deputies located the juvenile and Michael Dale Campbell age 35 of Flat Lick, KY in the detention center parking lot. After confirming he was not registered, he was arrested and charged with Failure to Comply with Sex Offender Registration and lodged in the Knox County Detention Center.
Whitney Lawson, who was still incarcerated, was also charged with Endangering Welfare of a Minor.
Department of Child Base Services was notified and the child was released to a family member.
