Welfare check in Knox County leads to endangering charges

On Monday September 2, 2019 at approximately 9:30 pm Knox County Deputy Bobby Jones responded to a welfare check of children whose dad was passed out inside a residence on Highway 11 in Woolum.

When Deputy Jones arrived he went to the rear of the residence and he could see through an open door a female lying on the kitchen floor. Once inside the residence a male subject was observed lying on the couch completely covered with a blanket.

After awakening the man and woman, neither one knew where the children were. The 2 year old girl was located with a friend of the family and the 5 year old boy, that had been seen running around outside, was located with a neighbor.

Bridget Nicole Doolin age 33 of Woolum, KY and Ray Mills JR age 53 of Woolum, KY were both arrested and charged with Endangering Welfare of a Minor. They were lodged in the Knox County Detention Center.

The Cabinet for Health and Families Services were notified and responded to the location.
