From The Williamsburg Police Department -
On Friday, March 12, 2021 at approximately 3:00AM Williamsburg Police received a call of a man armed with a gun screaming and yelling in the middle of the road, near the intersection of Main and 4th.
When officers arrived, they observed two males in a physical altercation and a gun laying on the ground near-by. WPD Officers Bryson Lawson and Jason Williams conducted an investigation resulting in the arrest of 22-year-old Deng Mayot of Williamsburg charging him with assault, terroristic threatening, disorderly conduct, and alcohol intoxication.
Mayot was lodged in the Whitley County Detention Center. A hand gun was recovered at the scene. WCSD Deputy Chad Foley assisted at the scene.
