From The Claiborne County Sheriff's Department -
On Tuesday, February 25, 2020, deputies responded to a residence on Doe Court in New Tazewell, Tennessee in regards to a 911 call stating a male, 49 year old Junior Allen Wheeler, had ran into their home and demanded that they help him.
Wheeler was wanted in connection to an alleged shooting that occurred on February 24th, 2020 at the residence next door.
Sheriff Bob Brooks, Deputies, Detectives, and members of the Claiborne County SWAT team arrived on scene and began the negotiations with Mr. Wheeler who at that point was treated as a barricaded subject.
After a brief standoff, Wheeler was taken into custody without further incident. He was charged with Aggravated Assault, two counts of Domestic Assault, and two counts of Reckless Endangerment, and Aggravated Burglary and lodged in the Claiborne County Jail.
