ENFORCEMENT ACTIONS

May 21 – May 26, 2019

Crystal Mink - BCDC

34 year old Crystal Mink of Stoney Fork was arrested on Wednesday May 22, 2019 at 10:08pm by Bell County Deputy Adam Southern. Ms. Mink was operating a 2009 Chrysler Sebring on Highway 221 near Jensen Kentucky when Deputy Southern saw her cross the double yellow line several times driving extremely recklessly. The deputy initiated a traffic stop and upon making contact with Ms. Mink he noticed that she was very slow to react to his questions.


The deputy determined her behavior was consistent with being under the influence of some type of drug and Ms. Mink admitted to snorting a Clonazepam and taking Methamphetamine. She was administered standard field sobriety tests which she failed.


She was lodged in the Bell County Detention Center charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence 1st offense, reckless driving, expired/cancelled registration, and operating with an expired license.

Christopher Asher - BCDC

45 year old Christopher Asher of Pineville was arrested on Thursday May 23, 2019 by Bell County Deputy Adam Southern after a traffic stop on Highway 119 at Tanyard Hill by Knox County Deputy Bobby Jones who was investigating a stolen vehicle complaint/recovery.


Asher was the driver of a 2003 white Dodge 1500 truck and Deputy Jones determined that Asher was under the influence of some type of drug after standard field sobriety tests were administered. Asher also admitted during the stop that he had used Methamphetamine earlier in the day.


After a consented vehicle search, Asher was found to be possession of a used uncapped syringe with residue.

Matilda Rayna Craig - BCDC

Also in the vehicle was passenger 35 year old Matilda Rayna Craig of Pathfork. Ms. Craig was also determined to be under the influence after displaying behavior consistent with intoxication.


Both Christopher Asher and Matilda Craig were lodged in the Bell County Detention Center. Asher was charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence 1st offense and cancelled/expired registration while Craig was charged with public intoxication.

Gary Wayne Hoskins - BCDC

56 year old Gary Wayne Hoskins of Pineville was arrested on Thursday May 23, 2019 at 11:37pm on Harbell Road in Pineville by Bell County Deputy Adam Southern. Hoskins was observed operating a red Dodge Dart that was illegally parked in the middle of Harbell Road with the lights off nearly causing the deputy to hit him.


Hoskins was seen frantically moving around in what appeared to be him hiding something after realizing that the vehicle approaching was law enforcement. Hoskins was asked to step out of the vehicle and a safety pat down was conducted along with a consented search of his pockets. As Hoskins stepped out, Deputy Southern noticed a glass pipe in the floor board with burned residue where he was sitting.


Hoskins was found to be in possession of a small bag of a crystal-like substance believed to be Methamphetamine, a small vile of a crystal-like substance in large rock form believed to be Methamphetamine, a black container with Marijuana, and Hydrocodone pills.


62 year old Glenda Kay Amsden was a passenger in the vehicle and also linked to the items found in the vehicle along with an open cold-to-touch Budweiser beer stuffed under the seat she was sitting in and it had spilled in the floor with the odor filling the vehicle.


Both Hoskins and Amsden were lodged in the Bell County Detention Center.


Gary Hoskins was charged with possession of controlled substance 1st degree, 1st offense – Methamphetamine, possession of controlled substance 1st degree, 1st offense – drug unspecified, possession of Marijuana, and buying/possessing drug paraphernalia.

Glenda Amsden was charged with possession of controlled substance 1st degree, 1st offense – Methamphetamine, possession of Marijuana, public intoxication, and possession of open container of alcohol beverage in a motor vehicle. She was also served an outstanding warrant.

39 year old Travis Middleton of Middlesboro was arrested at 10:43pm on Sunday May 26, 2019 by Bell County Deputy James Taulbee assisted by MPD Officer Chris Barnes.


Bell County Dispatch had received numerous calls in reference to a domestic fight involving Middleton choking a woman and causing bodily harm with his hands, Due to the nature of the complaint Officer Barnes was asked to assist Deputy Southern. Officer Barnes was first on scene observing a Middleton on top of the woman with a hammer in his hands as if to strike her.


Due to impending danger to the woman, Officer Barnes had to restrain Middleton and secure the scene until more units arrived. Two juveniles were present during the incident stating that Middleton had struck the woman in the back of the head with the hammer.

Middleton was charged with assault - 2nd degree and lodged in the Bell County Detention Center.

40 year old Michael Sawyer Mills of Pineville was arrested on Tuesday May 21, 2019 at 11:05pm for alcohol intoxication by Bell County Deputy Adam Southern after he was found standing against the guardrail on Highway 25E near Sam's Transmission. As the deputy made contact with Mills he was very unsteady on his feet and had a very strong odor of alcohol coming from his breath. For his safety, Mills was arrested.
