Christmas Day burglars caught by Knox County Ky. Deputies

On Monday, December 25, 2023, at approximately 4:00 am Knox County Deputy Jesse Smith received a call regarding a burglary that had occurred at a residence on Dogwood Trace in Corbin. The owner of the residence followed the two perpetrators into Laurel County.

A traffic stop was conducted by a Laurel County Deputy joined by Deputy Smith. The items

taken during the burglary were recovered from the stopped vehicle.

Arrested were 43-year-old Joe Scalf of London, KY., and 26-year-old Felicia Smith of London, KY with Burglary-2nd Degree and Criminal Mischief-1st Degree. They were both lodged in the Laurel County Correctional Center.
