On Thursday, December 1, 2022, Claiborne County Detective Niki McGeorge responded to a call at the Claiborne emergency room after a woman was reported to have been assaulted.
Through the investigation and statements from the victim, it was determined that 39-year-old Travis T. Brock lead the woman - and her juvenile daughter - to believe he was taking them to her mother's house. Instead, the woman says Brock drove them to a secluded area and stabbed her two times with a knife. He confined them both in the vehicle and refused to let them go. How they were able to get away was not stated in the citations.
Detective McGeorge stated in the citations that Brock used a “deadly weapon which resulted in serious bodily injury and the victim reasonably fearing imminent death.” Also stated was that Brock knowingly and intentionally attempted to kill the victim.
Travis Brock was arrested and lodged in the Claiborne County Jail charged with attempted 2nd-degree murder, (2) two counts of especially aggravated kidnapping, aggravated domestic assault, and was served a violation of parole.
Brock is currently on parole for a January 2018 aggravated assault in Rutherford County.
