From the Laurel County Sheriff's Department
Laurel Sheriff's Deputy Joey Robinson arrested Jennifer Maggard age 37 of London on Saturday evening January 12, 2019 at approximately 6:30 PM. The arrest occurred off Lillian Lane approximately 1 mile northeast of London after Deputy Robinson was dispatched to an apparent intoxicated female subject there.
Upon arrival at the scene Deputy Robinson located Maggard outside and attempted to make contact with her when she fled around the building. Following a short foot chase and a brief scuffle where she screamed and yelled and attempted to fight with Deputy Robinson, Maggard was taken into custody.
As she was being transported to the detention center she began hitting her head on the windows in the back of the police car and admitted using what she thought was a large amount of methamphetamine.
Jennifer Maggard was charged with fleeing or evading police – second-degree – on foot; disorderly conduct – second-degree; resisting arrest; menacing; public intoxication – controlled substances. She was lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center.
