Drug indictments served on Coalgood Ky man

Gene Clinton Posey - HCDC

On Friday, January 3, 2020 Deputies with the Harlan County Sheriff’s Office arrested 51 year old Gene Clinton Posey, of Coalgood, on multiple indictments.


The charges on one indictment included Possession of Controlled Substance 1st Degree (Methamphetamine), Possession of Controlled Substance 2nd Degree, Assault 3rd Degree, Menacing, Disorderly Conduct, Resisting Arrest, No Operators License and Operating on Expired Operators License.


A second indictment charged him with Possession of Controlled Substance 1st Degree (Methamphetamine), Possession of Controlled Substance 2nd Degree, Possession of Controlled Substance 3rd Degree, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Operating Motor Vehicle under the Influence, and No Operators License.


A third indictment charged him with Theft by Unlawful Taking over $500. He was also served a warrant for Failure to Appear on a Bell County District Court case involving a theft charge.

He was lodged in the Harlan County Detention Center with no bond set.


James Lawson, 45, of Wallins, was also arrested by Deputies on a Child Support Warrant. He was also lodged in the Harlan County Detention Center.
