From WRIL -

Eddie North Jr. - KCDC

Wednesday night March 13, 2019 at 6:45pm while Deputy Bobby Jones was answering a complaint on an eviction vacate, the deputy states in a citation that he observed a man, identified as 46 year old Eddie North Jr. of Pineville operating a GMC Sonoma.

Deputy Jones goes on to state that he made contact with North knowing he did not have a valid operator’s license. According to Jones, North became combative, swearing at him, and would not comply with lawful orders. The deputy placed North under arrest lodging him in the Knox County Jail.

He was charged with driving dui suspended license – 1st offense – aggravated circumstances, no operator’s license, disorderly conduct – 2nd degree, menacing, and resisting arrest.

Deputy Jones recently arrested North on January 20th when he was dispatched to a complaint of a suspicious vehicle randomly pulling into driveways on HWY 718 in Walker. Deputy Jones observed the suspicious vehicle – a white 1984 Chevy Blazer - traveling on Trace Branch Road in Walker and stopped it. At the time Jones charged North with operating on suspended or revoked operator’s license, no insurance, license to be in possession, improper registration plates, no registration receipt and failure to register transfer of motor vehicle. Eddie North was also wanted at the time on a Bell County bench warrant for failure to pay a $598.00fine on a DUI charge. He was released from the detention center on January 25th.

Prior to that arrest, North was arrested in December of last year on two non-support charges, a bigamy charge, and a pay or stay warrant.

As a side note - Mr. North recently contacted WRIL to share his displeasure with our coverage of his arrests even to the point of letting us know how he would handle the issue if we did not apologize and retract our story. We do not bow to threats when covering local arrests and we will continue to report them.

Our directions to Mr. North and anyone arrested that we report, please take up the arrest with the police and court system if you have a problem with the charges. We do not cause them, we simply cover the incidents. If you provide evidence to the contrary of what is reported in the citations, or the outcome of the case is contrary to the charges, we would be glad to report them.
