Father and son arrested in connection with robbery of A & B market in Artemus

On Saturday, December 21, 2019 Knox County Deputy Elijah Broughton responded to an Armed Robbery complaint at the A & B Market on Highway 225 near Artemus.


During his investigation Deputy Broughton developed information identifying two suspects.


On Monday, December 23, 2019 Deputy Broughton arrested Alex C Toothman age 21 of Artemus, KY charging him Robbery-1st Degree and Wanton Endangerment-1st Degree.


During the arrest, Alex Toothman attempted to flee on foot. He was then charged with Fleeing or Evading Police-2nd Degree, Possession of Marijuana and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. He is being held on a $50,000 cash bond.

Russell Toothman - KCDC

Deputy Broughton also arrested Russell Toothman age 47 of Artemus, KY charging him Robbery-1st Degree-Complicity. Alex Toothman, and his father Russell Toothman were lodged in the Knox County Detention Center.


KSP Detectives Aaron Fredrick and Jake Wilson assisted in the arrests.
