From WRIL -

On Monday March 18th WRIL reported that former Pineville Community Hospital CFO 30 year old Matthew Thomas Brock was arrested on a fugitive warrant out of Claiborne County for theft over $10,000. Prior to that arrest he was charged in Blount County, Tennessee on similar charges. Once making bond in Claiborne he was then picked up by Knox County, Tennessee for theft charges.
Today (Tuesday April 23, 2019) Brock was once again arrested for theft charges involving payroll issues with a 3rd party (Dominion Payroll) working in conjunction with two businesses he was running out of Middlesboro – August Holdings, LLC where he is listed as CEO. The two businesses were Neighborhood Pediatrics and Southeast Kentucky Urology which we are told effectively closed their doors today.
After a traffic stop on 20th and Cumberland, where Brock was a passenger in a vehicle, Middlesboro Officer Jeremiah Johnson arrested and processed him at Police Headquarters. During the course of the investigation it was discovered that Brock had forged his wife’s name and entered into a contract with Dominion Payroll Services out of Nashville, Tennessee.
According to the citation, while doing business with Dominion, Brock is charged with obtaining (2) two separate deposits of $14,719.23 and $5,608.87 that were supposed to go to Dominion to make payroll already disbursed to employees.
Brock is also charged with theft by deception - cold checks - under $10,000 after Ronnie Fuson of Fuson Sporting Goods in Pineville filed a complaint warrant in regard to a $1,082.00 bad check written to the business as Neighborhood Pediatrics with Brock knowing it wouldn’t be honored.
Brock was due in Bell County district court today for still two more theft by deception cold checks – under $10,000 charges. That case was continued.
More charges are pending against Brock in Bell County alone and he still has to answer for his Tennessee charges in regard to theft.
Matthew Thomas Brock was lodged in the Bell County Detention Center. His current charges are theft by deception – cold checks - $10,000 or more, two counts of theft by deception cold checks – under $10,000, and forgery -2nd degree.
Officer Johnson was assisted by Officer Kenny Vanover on the stop and Officer Jordan Hurd assisted in the investigation.
