Harlan County Deputies make drug arrest at traffic stop on Gulston man

On Friday March 10, 2023, Deputies Austin Reynolds and Jacob Rich executed a traffic stop on Highway 72 just past the Mary Alice community. Upon making contact with the vehicle, Deputy Reynolds recognized 36-year-old Paul Muncy of Gulston, Ky., and placed him under arrest on a Harlan Circuit Court Indictment for drug trafficking as well as on a child support warrant.


Muncy had in his possession suspected Methamphetamine, Fentanyl, and Marijuana as well as a handgun with two magazines, digital scales with suspected Methamphetamine residue and cash.

Paul Muncy was lodged in the Harlan County Detention center additionally charged with

Trafficking in Controlled Substance 1st Degree (Methamphetamine). Possession of a Controlled Substance, and Trafficking in Marijuana.


Deputies Reynolds and Rich were assisted by Deputies Bryan Napier, Cody Bargo and CJ Reed.


**All those reported as being arrested by WRIL are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
