Knox County Ky JE declares state of emergency

From Knox County Ky Judge Executive Mike Mitchell -

After surveying the damage to the Kay Jay community due to torrential rain fall on Sunday July 7, 2019. Judge Mitchell has declared a State of Emergency for Knox County, Kentucky beginning July 7, 2019 until such a disaster ends. Declaring this State of Emergency will allow Knox County Emergency Management and Knox County Fiscal Court to request assistance from state, federal agencies and other organizations that assist communities during disasters as such the American Red Cross. When Knox County is in need this community comes together and supports each other. I want to thank the community volunteers, first responders, Knox County Emergency Management and anyone that has assisted the Kay Jay community in their time of need.
