From the Knox County Ky Sheriff's Department -
Wednesday, May 10, 2023, Sheriff Smith and other members of the Knox County Sheriff’s Office arrested the following individuals for trafficking in controlled substances/methamphetamine and Fentanyl.
Tonya Hobbs age 44 of Flat Lick, KY charged with Trafficking in Controlled Substance-1st Degree/ Methamphetamine.
During the arrest, a deputy was inadvertently stuck in a finger with a loaded syringe that went through his duty glove. Knox EMS was called to the residence on Coconut Drive in Barbourville for treatment. The deputy will have to undergo a series of blood tests over a period of six (6) months. Tonya Hobbs was then charged with Wanton Endangerment-2nd Degree/Police Officer and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
Two other females were arrested at the same residence:
Cailen Newton age 27 of Barbourville, KY was wanted on Bell County Bench Warrant for failure to appear on several traffic-related charges and a Contempt of Court charge.
AlicIa Hughes age 37 of Barbourville, KY was wanted on a Knox County Bench Warrant for a Contempt of Court charge.
Tommy Hubbard, age 52 of Flat Lick, KY charged with Trafficking in a Controlled Substance-1st Degree/ Methamphetamine.
William Tucker, age 31 of Flat Lick, KY charged with Trafficking in a Controlled Substance-1st Degree/ Methamphetamine.
Ashley N Lunsford age 31 of Hinkle, KY, a female at the same residence on C Mills Road in Hinkle, was arrested on a Knox County Bench Warrant for failure to pay the fines a Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and DUI charges. She was also wanted on a Whitley County Bench Warrant for failure to appear on Receiving Stolen Property and two counts of Contempt of Court charges.
Lenny Baker, age 50 of Flat Lick. KY charged with Trafficking in Controlled Substance-1st Degree/ Fentanyl. During the arrest, a plastic bag of suspected methamphetamine and a syringe were found in his possession. Lenny Baker was then charged with Possession of Controlled Substance-1st Degree and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
These arrests are the result of an undercover investigation conducted by the Knox County Sheriff’s Office with support from Operation UNITE.
