Knox County Sheriff Mike Smith is reporting the following Enforcement Actions:
On December 20, 2022 Knox County Deputies investigated a complaint of a stolen wallet that contained $700 in cash along with debit and credit cards. An individual later identified as Andrew Saunders used the debit card at an ATM. at the Heidrick One Stop. Andrew K Saunders age 27 of Barbourville, KY was located inside the market and arrested. During the arrest a syringe was located on his person. He was charged with Theft by Unlawful Taking-over $500 and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Andrew Saunders was lodged in the Knox County Detention Center.
On December 21, 2022, Deputy Jeremiah Williamson arrested Michael P Mills age 36 of Barbourville, KY on two Knox County Arrest Warrants for Terroristic Threatening -3rd Degree, two counts Assault-4th Degree and Wanton Endangerment-1st Degree. He was lodged in the Knox County Detention Center.
On December 29, 2022 SGT Bobby Jones assisted social services on a complaint of juveniles in possession of drugs at a residence on Payton Lane in Hinkle. While at the residence, SGT Jones observed marijuana grinder, several marijuana cigarettes, digital scales and a syringe cap inside the residence with three juveniles. Christopher Bruner age 35 of Hinkle, KY was arrested and charged with Possession of Marijuana, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and three counts of Endangering Welfare of a Minor. He was lodged in the Knox County Detention Center.
On December 29, 2022 SGT Bobby Jones was dispatched to a disturbance complaint at the Spider Creek Apartments. After arriving at the apartments, SGT Jones arrested Jimmy Jackson age 41 of Corbin, KY outside the apartments charging him with Alcohol Intoxication in a Public Place. He was lodged in the Knox County Detention Center.
On December 29, 2022, Court Security Officer James Smith arrested Nickie Hubbard age 39 of Flat Lick, KY on a Knox County Arrest Warrant for Criminal Trespass-3rd Degree and a Knox County Bench Warrant for a Drug Court Violation charge. She was lodged in the Knox County Detention Center.
On December 30, 2022 SGT Bobby Jones arrested Ryan S Swearengin age 30 of Hinkle, KY on a Knox County Bench Warrant for failure to appear on Operating a Suspended or Revoked Operators License, No Insurance, Failure to Wear Seat Belts, No Registration Plates or Receipt, No Break Lights and Improper Equipment charges. He was lodged in the Knox County Detention Center.
On December 31, 2022 Deputy Jesse Smith arrested Tiffany Buckner age 33 of Middlesboro, KY on a Bell County Bench Warrant for a Contempt of Court charge. During the arrest, Deputy Smith found several pills, marijuana and plastic baggies in her possession. She was then charged with Possession of Controlled Substance-1st Degree, Possession of Marijuana and Tampering with Physical Evidence. She was lodged in the Knox County Detention Center.
On January 1, 2023 Deputy Jesse Smith received a report of a female being held against her will at a residence on KY 3439 in Barbourville. After contacting the victim, Deputy Smith arrested Kenneth Brown age 32 of Flat Lick, KY charging him with Assault-4th Degree and Terroristic Threatening-2nd Degree. Joseph Smith was also wanted on a Knox County Bench Warrant for a Contempt of Court charge. He was lodged in the Knox County Detention Center.
On January 1, 2023 Deputies arrested Ancil Myrick age 59 of Barbourville, KY on a Knox County Arrest Warrant for Assault-4th Degree. He was lodged in the Knox County Detention Center.
On January 1, 2023 Deputy Jesse Smith received a disturbance complaint at a residence on Warren Camp Road in Trosper. After arriving at the location, Deputy Smith arrested Dara Brown age 31 of Trosper, KY charging her with Alcohol Intoxication in a Public Place. She was lodged in the Knox County Detention Center.
On January 1, 2023 SGT Bobby Jones arrested Billy Grant age 56 of Woodbine, KY on two Whitley County Warrants for failure to pay the fines on two counts of Failure of Owner to Maintain Required Insurance. He was lodged in the Knox County Detention Center.
On January 2, 2023 SGT Bobby Jones arrested Donald C Burns age 46 of Morehead, KY on a Fugitive Warrant from Lawrence, OH. He was lodged in the Knox County Detention Center.
On January 3, at approximately 12:50 am SGT Bobby Jones responded to a trespassing complaint at a residence on Kennedy Avenue in Corbin. After contacting the property owner, SGT Jones arrested Randall Elliott age 34 of Corbin, KY charging him with Criminal Trespassing-3rd Degree. Randall Elliott was also wanted on a Whitley County Arrest Warrant for Terroristic Threatening-3rd Degree, Disorderly Conduct-2nd Degree and a Whitley County Bench Warrant for a Child Support Violation charge. He was lodged in the Knox County Detention Center.
