On Wednesday May 1, 2019, at 1 p.m., Deborah Poore appeared in the Knox County Circuit Court for her sentencing in the 2017 murder of her boyfriend, Steven Burke.
Brandon Jones, Assistant Commonwealth Attorney for the 27th Judicial Circuit says Jackie Steele was the prosecutor over the case. He says Steele recommended 20 years in prison for Poore and 85% of that term must be served.
Poore pleaded guilty to the murder of Burke and agreed with the Commonwealth's recommendation.
"The Commonwealth Attorney's Office is pleased with Judge Mike Caperton, who went along with our recommendation and agreed to sentence Ms. Poore," says Jones.
