As we previously reported, family members of a Harlan County couple reached out to us about a double ATV fatality in Leslie County Kentucky Saturday night March 28, 2020. We reached out to KSP PAO Jody Sims who then directed us to the Leslie County Sheriff's Department.
The sheriff's department tells WRIL that the accident happened while the couple was traveling on Wolf Creek Road on a side by side. It was determined they were traveling at a high rate of speed, lost control, and overturned in a curve.
While the sheriff's department states that normal protocol is to wait 48 hours to release the names of those who have passed, the family supplied them to us last night. We are deferring to other family members to make that decision or the sheriff's office to publish the names.
