Lily man struck and killed by a train south of London, Ky.

Sheriff Root stated in a release that his department is conducting a death investigation after a man, identified as 38 Brandon North of Lily, was pronounced dead at the scene.


Laurel Sheriff's Lieut Chris Edwards and Detective Taylor McDaniel are conducting a death investigation after North was found deceased near the Ky 552 /railroad tracks intersection, 6 miles south of London on Saturday afternoon August 8th, 2020 at approximately 12:17 P.m. Investigators report that apparently the victim was struck by a train.

An autopsy was conducted on Sunday in Frankfort with results pending.

Assisting was: Laurel Sheriff's Deputy Robert Reed, Deputy Allen Turner, Ambulance Inc. Of Laurel County, Lily Fire and Rescue, London Laurel Rescue Squad, Laurel County Coroner's office , Laurel County Public Safety, and CSX Railroad Police.

Laurel Sheriff's Lt. Chris Edwards and Detective Taylor McDaniel continue to investigate.
