Updated: Jun 5, 2019

From WRIL -

George Fisher - BCDC

The Middlesboro Police have provided more details to this story and state in a release that the call came into dispatch at 12:16pm on Tuesday June 4, 2019 from 47 year old George Fisher's estranged wife Charlene Fisher claiming he had shot at her and another person, identified in a citation as John McDowell. She also stated he then left the residence. Officers responded to the Gordon Lane residence to begin the investigation.

The release continues to state that officers on scene collected physical evidence and statements from independent witnesses and victims that led to Fisher's arrest at 2019 1/2 Cumberland Avenue, near his business the Middlesborough Pawn Shop. We acquired the citation on Tuesday which stated that the Charlene Fisher and John McDowell were able to "dodge" the shot, we are uncertain the circumstances surrounding that statement but neither were injured.

George Fisher was arrested and charged with two counts of attempted murder, violation of a KY DVO, and convicted felon in possession of a handgun. He has been lodged in the Bell County Detention Center and as of this report no bond has been set.

Middlesboro Officer Kenny Vanover is in charge of this investigation. He was assisted by Lt. David Buis, Sgt. Joe Holder, Patrolman Clay Hurd, and Patrolman Jeremiah Johnson.
