From WRIL -

James Madden - BCDC

On Tuesday, April 27th Dairy Queen of Middlesboro reported that overnight the contents of two cash drawers were stolen from the business totaling $235.00. Responding to the call was Middlesboro Police Sgt. Barry Cowan who states in his citation that video surveillance showed the suspect was wearing an arm sling.

The sergeant also noted that prior to the call, he had been at the Middlesboro ARH Emergency Room on another case and observed an individual identified as 21-year-old James Madden of Middlesboro wearing the same sling and clothing as in the video, after suffering an injury.

Madden was identified as the person in the video and was arrested on Thursday, May 6, 2021. He was lodged in the Bell County Detention Center charged with burglary – 3rd degree.

Madden was out on bond from another 3rd degree burglary charge stemming from a theft with another individual at Slusher Dental on Cumberland Avenue in early March 2021. He was released on bond for that charge on March 17, 2021 and has another court appearance on June 7, 2021 in Bell County Circuit Court.
