Morristown man arrested in Middlesboro for vehicle theft and trespassing

From WRIL -

Kermit T. Huff - BCDC

Middlesboro Police Chief Tom Busic and Officer Jeremiah Johnson responded to a North 25th Street address at 8:24 Tuesday morning October 15, 2019.

This was in regard to a complaint of a Morristown man - identified as 59 year old Kermit T. Huff of Morristown, Tennessee – trespassing. According to Chief Tom Busic’s citation, property owner Danny Morrison caught Huff on the property two weeks ago and told him not to come back.

Huff was found once again at the location sitting in a 2019 Ford Flex that had been entered into NCIC as stolen out of South Carolina.

Enterprise Car Rental out of Sumpter South Carolina rented the vehicle to Huff on September 3, 2019 and he did not return it to the business as agreed. The citation reads that Huff did so “…in an attempt to deprive Enterprise of the vehicle without payment.”

Kermit T Huff was lodged in the Bell County Detention Center charged with receiving stolen property over $10,000 or more and criminal trespass – 3rd degree.
