Morristown Police: Driver arrested and charged in hit-and-run

A Talbott man was arrested and charged in connection with a hit-and-run crash involving a pedestrian in Morristown Saturday night, according to Morristown Police Department.


57 year old Rick Perry, turned himself into police Sunday. He was charged with leaving the scene of an accident with injury and failure to immediately report an accident.


The incident happened around 9:30 p.m. A pedestrian was crossing East Morris Boulevard near Terrace Lane when he was struck by a Chevrolet Silverado 1500 truck. Perry fled the scene.


The victim was transported to UT Medical Center for treatment, his condition is unknown at this time.


Perry was transported to the Hamblen County Jail with a $25,000 bond.
