North Carolina man arrested after threatening to kill staff of London hotel

On Friday, January 22nd at approximately 2:30 p.m. London Police responded to a complaint of a robbery at the Comfort Suites Hotel located on KY-192. Through the investigation, 36-year-old Christopher Rolls, of Winston, N.C. was arrested.


Upon the arrival of officers, they made contact with Rolls. Hotel staff informed officers that Rolls demanded money and threatened to kill staff members when he was asked to leave.


Ofc. Dillon Blair noticed Rolls was in close proximity to a large manchette knife as he leaned on the hotel counter. Ofc. Blair then attempted to detain Rolls who began to resist arrest, Ofc. Blair and Sgt. Ryan Jackson were able to arrest him without incident.


Rolls was charged with first-degree robbery, resisting arrest, and public intoxication of a controlled substance. Rolls was lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center.


Assisting on-scene include Chief Darrel Kilburn, Sgt. Travis Dotson, Ofc. Patrick Nunley, Ofc. Eric Wilkerson, and the Laurel County Sheriff's Major Chuck Johnson and Det. Taylor McDaniel.
