From WRIL - The Big One -

On Tuesday night, December 19, 2023, a short time after 6:15pm, Bell County Dispatch received a call of a motorcycle vs. car accident on Old Bell High Road.

Responding to the scene was Bell County Sgt. Frank Foster assisted by Chief Deputy Jared Smith, Deputies Austin Poindexter, Samson Churchwell, and Chaplain Rick Dorton. Also responding was Bell EMS, and Bell County Volunteer Fire Department.

The sheriff deputies determined that 43-year-old Jamie Wilder of Pineville crashed into a vehicle after he lost control on the roadway, turned the motorcycle on it's side, and skidded into the car catching fire. The vehicle was occupied by an 18-year-old female driver, who was uninjured and not involved in causing the accident.

CPR was administered to Wilder, but due to the seriousness of the accident he succumbed to his injuries. Bell County Deputy Coroner Jason Steele was requested to the scene and pronounced Wilder deceased.
