Pineville man among seven arrested on drug charges in dual department operation

Laurel and Knox Sheriffs team up to arrest 7 on drug charges:


Laurel County Sheriff John Root and Knox County Sheriff Mike Smith teamed up to investigate a methamphetamine drug case after information was developed on the transportation of approximately 1/2 pound of crystal meth from Louisville Kentucky to a residence off East Pittsburgh Church Rd. approximately 1 mile north of London on Friday afternoon August 7, 2020 at approximately 3:25 PM.


Both Sheriffs report that following their investigation, seven individuals were arrested at the residence off East Pittsburgh Church Rd. after approximately 1/2 pound of crystal meth was found at that residence. Some of the arrested individuals were from Louisville Kentucky while others were from Laurel County and Bell County.


The arrested individuals were identified as:


1. the home owner – Michelle L. Spurlock age 48 of E. Pittsburgh Church Rd., London charged with trafficking in a controlled substance – first-degree – first offense – more than 2 grams of methamphetamine.


2. Alan Ramsey age 48 of Rupert Ln., London charged with trafficking in a controlled substance – 1st degree – first offense more than 2 grams of methamphetamine.


3. Tony Ramsey age 45 of E. Pittsburgh Church Rd., London charged with trafficking in a controlled substance – first-degree – first offense – more than 2 grams of methamphetamine.


4. Dustin G. Goosetree age 28 of E. Pittsburgh Church Rd., London charged with trafficking in a controlled substance – first-degree – first offense – more than 2 grams of methamphetamine.


5. . David Jackson age 41 of Wildwood trail, Pineville, KY charged with trafficking in a controlled substance – first-degree – first offense – more than 2 grams of methamphetamine.


6. Amanda C. Vanmeter age 34 of Larchmont Ave., Louisville, KY charged with trafficking in a controlled substance – first-degree – first offense – more than 2 grams of methamphetamine.


7. Deandre L. Coffman age 31 of Algonquin Pkwy., Louisville, KY charged with trafficking in a controlled substance – first-degree – first offense – more than 2 grams of methamphetamine.

Also investigating was the London Office of the DEA.


It is anticipated that this drug case will prosecuted through US federal court.


Both Sheriffs stated that their offices will continue to aggressively investigate drug complaints in their counties.
