Tazewell PD stop New Tazewell man discovering several drugs, a gun, and body armor

On Monday, July 5, 2021, Officer Jacob Melton and Sgt. Andrew Sturgill conducted a traffic stop on 44-year-old Christopher P. Dean of New Tazewell, Tn. on Richardson Rd. in Tazewell for a traffic violation. Dean was operating a 1993 Buick.
After a search of the vehicle a large amount of narcotics and a weapon were recovered, along with $897.00 in cash.
Christopher P. Dean was lodged in the Claiborne County Jail charged with:
Sell or Delivery Schedule 5 Narcotics
Driving on a Revoked Drivers License
Possession of Unlawful Drug Paraphernalia
Sell or Delivery Schedule 6 Narcotics
Possession of Methamphetamine
Possession of Schedule 1 (Heroin)
Schedule 2 Drugs
Body Armor while committing a felony
Possession of Firearm while committing a felony
Possession of a weapon by convicted felon
Unlawful possession of a weapon
