Two arrested in Knox County, Ky. charged with burglary

On Sunday, October 2, 2022, Knox County Deputy Jesse Smith was dispatched to a

burglary in progress at a residence on Green Briar Road in Flat Lick. The caller advised that the homeowner was gone and no one should be inside the residence.


After arriving at the residence and conducting an investigation, Deputy Smith learned that two people had carried items out of the house, taking them to a nearby residence. Deputy Smith located the stolen items behind the nearby residence.


Deputy Smith arrested Kayla Belcher age 25 of Flat Lick, KY, and Derrick Woolum age 29 of Flat Lick, KY charging each of them with Burglary-2nd Degree and Criminal Trespass-1st Degree. They were both lodged in the Knox County Detention Center. Bond has not been set yet.
