Woman arrested after trying to pass off dog's urine as her own to probation officer

Updated: Dec 31, 2019

From the Pineville Police Department -

On Monday, December 30, 2019 at 3:16pm Pineville Officer Michael Smith was dispatched to the Bell County Probation and Parole Office to speak with Officer Stewart.

Upon arrival and speaking with Officer Stewart, Officer Smith was advised that 40 year old Julie Miller of Arjay Kentucky was at the office for her regular probation visit.

As a part of her supervision, Miller was asked for a drug screen. Officer Stewart told Officer Smith that Miller had snuck in a sample of urine in an attempt to pass it off as her own to probation and parole officers.

After being read her rights, Miller asked to speak with Officer Smith. The officer asked if the urine was hers and she admitted it was not, that it was her dog’s urine. She was asked by Officer Smith if it was brought in because she knew she would fail the drug test and she stated yes. She said her test would show she had used methamphetamine and Suboxone.

Julie Miller was arrested and lodged in the Bell County Detention Center charged with tampering with physical evidence.

She was later served a probation violation at the detention center by probation and parole and a short time afterward, a trafficking in controlled substance warrant by the Bell County Sheriff’s Department.
