Yet another theft charge for Jennings

Monday Feburary 11, 2019 a man very familiar to area law enforcement was arrested yet again.


Middlesboro Police Sgt. Joe Holder and with Lt. David Buis responded to Lee Food Mart at 25th Street and Cumberland Avenue in regard to a shoplifting incident.


The clerk told the officers that she witnessed 30 year old Derrick Jennings of Middlesboro take candy and food items and leave the store without paying. She also stated he had been banned from the store due to another shoplifting incident Thursday February 7, 2019.


The clerk gave Jennings direction of travel and Lt. Buis caught up with him on Cumberland Avenue where Jennings turned over all the stolen food items.


Derrick Jennings was arrested and lodged in the Bell County Detention Center charged with theft by unlawful taking under $500 and criminal trespass 2nd degree.


This is Jennings third arrest in less than two months involving theft cases.
